Authors: Picarella, Lucia
Abstract: In consideration of the main literature in the field of political communication, and
within the framework of currents of studies that highlight the significant potential of
digital communication, and, rather, of the implementation of its tools in the field of
strategic construction of political consensus, this chapter will analyze the techniques
of political communication of the M5s in order to assess the relevance and success of
maximizing the application of communicative innovation in the political sphere. A
strategy that has properly characterized the movement, transforming it into a
phenomenon capable of upsetting the Italian political landscape.

Authors: Cassani, Alessia
Abstract: The 1920s and 1930s are a period of extraordinary flourishing in Spanish culture.
In particular, the 1920s are characterized by the great popularity of the literary
avant-gardes and of their “spiritual chief”, the philosopher José Ortega y Gasset.
His essay La deshumanización del arte is a sort of manifesto which proposes an art
for art’s sake, as far as possible from human aspects and disregarding social issues.
Against this literary trend, lean out some intellectuals defined as the "1930
generation", "novelistas sociales" or novelists of the new romanticism, definition
taken from a collection of articles by José Díaz Fernández who, without leaving the
aesthetic canons of the literary avant-garde, proposes an art "rehumanized", of
denunciation, attentive to social issues and people's problems. They are also called
"pre-war novelists" because the Spanish civil war will fatally break through any
literary debate in favor of more pressing issues.

Authors: Scocozza, Carmen
Abstract: The article deals with the growing centrality held by the Russian politics in the postSoviet space. More in detail, after the Colour Revolution in the Eurasian region, the
Kremlin has increased its efforts to spread a positive Russia's image and to become a
reference model for the region, starting point for the nation's restart even
internationally. However, the recent conflicts, from the Georgian war to the one in
Ukraine, have shown the limits of a power that in times of trouble uses the military
force to impose its own will. Poised between openings to the Soft Power and the return
to the dynamics typical of an imperial power, Moscow has to resolve its ambiguity if it
wants to have an influence on the region and to encourage the creation of alternative
poles against the Western claims of universality.

Authors: Simon-Belli, Carlo
Abstract: This paper aims to identify points of encounter and friction between Islamic
political culture and the principles of Western democracies, in order to evaluate
possible developments in the relationship between the Western and Arab-Islamic
world. The study is based above all on a careful analysis of the political vision of
Islam, as it can be inferred from its sacred texts, also taking into consideration the
problem of the often incorrect interpretation of such texts, easily distorted for
political purposes that have nothing to do with the religious and spiritual
dimension of Islam. The study shows, in any case, the substantial difference
between the political perspective of the West and that of the Arab world, which
becomes conditioned by its religious dimension by giving up any secular vision.
