Abstract:

The contribution focuses on the constitutional reasons that impose on the Republic to safeguard and enhance the historical and artistic heritage of the Nation, even when it has a religious relevance. In particular, the A. outlines that this protection has to be connected to the humanistic value of culture and does not constitute a way to endorse, even implicitly, a specific ideological and faith message. This eventuality would in fact be in contrast with the essence of the democratic constitutional state and would constitute an insuperable obstacle for an appreciation, in an inclusive sense, of the cultural heritage of the Nation
