Abstract:

This article analyzes the issue of consumer rights, emphasizing 3 essential aspects. In the first place, the nature of the consumer relationship is stud-ied with emphasis on the weakness and vulnerability of the consumer in the relationship, which justifies the protection provided. Secondly, refer-ence is made to the nature of the consumer rights protection regime and its special character. Finally, the recognition of consumer rights as human rights is analyzed by reviewing the opinion of some jurists and the Con-stitutional Court of Colombia.
