In the light of the comparative analysis of several excerpts from d’Annunzio’s Phaedra, Euripides’ Hippolytus, Seneca’s Phaedra and Racine’s Phèdre, the paper investigates the connections among these four tragedies on the motifs of curse and death, and the problems of their dramaturgic treatment.
