Abstract: | This paper outlines the work of the «Pasquali Agazzi» Museum (Mu.P.A.), which was launched in Brescia in 2021. Since its foundation, the exhibition centre – which retraces the key milestones in the development of the early childhood education method practiced in the late 1800s by Rosa and Carolina Agazzi and Pietro Pasquali – has actively promoted the historical and educational heritage that it houses. Recognizing its potential as a source of identity for the wider community, Mu.P.A. has designed multiple actions targeting the large-scale dissemination of historical knowledge, organizing itself not only as an «object» of cultural consumption, but also as a «subject» in the shared production and construction of culture. To this end, the museum has languages with the power to engage audiences from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds, ages and interest groups. Over the course of its short history, Mu.P.A. has thus implemented practices that are aligned with the Public history of education approach. |
