Abstract

Il saggio intende ripercorrere, a grandi linee e attraverso significative esemplificazioni, la vicenda scenica dei Sei Personaggi in cerca d’autore di Luigi Pirandello. Il punto di partenza è la prima rappresentazione al Teatro Valle di Roma del 9 maggio 1921 e le successive rappresentazioni che porteranno Pirandello a modificare e definire il testo dell’opera. Successivamente si analizzano le messe in scena di epoche diverse quali quelle di Costa, De Lullo, Cecchi e De Fusco.

The essay intends to retrace, broadly and through significant examples, the scenic history of Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author. The starting point is the first performance at the Teatro Valle in Rome on 9 May 1921 and the subsequent performances that will lead Pirandello to modify and define the text of his work. Subsequently, the stagings of different works by other Directors are analyzed, such as those of Costa, De Lullo, Cecchi and De Fusco.
