D’Angelo, Laura
On the occasion of celebrations of 700th Anniversary of Dante’s death, the aim of this work is
to underline the universality of Dante’s poetry, in the description of human sufferings, according to modern and post- modern vision of life. The wholly perception of crisis, due to the pandemic in a new sense of fear, disease and instability, emphasizes the consciousness of fragility and vulnerability, that, such as for 20th century authors, has in the model of Dante’s Inferno the mirror through which literature might define itself as inner voice of all-times mankind.

Mastronardi, Maria Aurelia
The essay examines the value and diffusion of
the crusade’s myth, in its political and ideological implications within the sacred and profane oratory of the 15th century. In particular, the essay analyses the Epistolae et orationes contra Turcos by cardinal Bessarione and their connection to the letters and orations by Enea Silvio Piccolomini (Constantinopolitana clades and Cum bellum hodie) and to the oration to Alfonso d’Aragona by Niccolò Sagundino. Precise intertextual references reveal an extraordinary thematic fixity and the progressive definition of a precise grid of topoi, that will have
considerable vitality and fortune in anti-Ottoman literature.

Montanile, Milena
The author reads Mirella Napodano's novel as a singular case of writing in autobiographical
terms that goes beyond the blurred boundaries of the genre to establish itself as an experiential
path for the search for the self. The researcher identifies in the "novel", built around the rich
paternal correspondence, the wonderful script of a family story during the war years, to the
point of capturing in the plot of the book the intersection of two different writing registers: the first consists of the letters, with the direct testimony of the father Carmine, the other given by the 'narration' of the author, with large descriptive inserts, placed in commentary on the letters, which return, between history, traditions and folklore, the cross-section of an era.
