Un incontro nel segno di Dante Cofano, Domenico Il breve intervento coglie, nel ricordo del primo ‘incontro’ scientifico con i lavori di Dante Della Terza, l’occasione per segnalare alcuni aspetti interessanti dell’esegesi dantesca dell’illustre italianista. In primo luogo si rileva la sua insistenza sulla necessità di leggere i singoli canti in funzione dell’«insiemezza» della cantica e della realtà globale del poema, che impone, dunque, anche l’adozione di una ‘visuale’ retrospettiva; in secondo luogo si fa riferimento, sia pure per fugaci cenni, al suo rapporto con Singleton e alla sua meritoria ‘scoperta’ di Auerbach.; This brief intervention, in memory of the first scientific 'encounter' with Dante Della Terza's works, takes the opportunity to point out some interesting aspects of Dante's exegesis by the illustrious Italianist. In the first place, his insistence on the necessity of reading the single cantos in function of the ‘wholeness’ of the cantica and of the global reality of the poem, which imposes, therefore, also the adoption of a retrospective "view"; in the second place, reference is made, albeit briefly, to his relationship with Singleton and his meritorious ‘discovery’ of Auerbach.
