This paper develops a transversal analysis of the six Directives on procedural rights, adopted by the EU in recent years, in accordance with the competence established in the art. 82 TFEU, with the purpose of individuating the common elements. The minimum standards recognized in these Directives and their interpretation by the EU Court of Justice represent undoubtedly a decisive step in the development of a “European model of criminal justice”, based on a “common procedural statute”, that will contribute to reduce the differences between the legislations of Member States and to guarantee a uniform protection of the right to a fair trial.it_IT
