Il canone del nuovo millennio: prime elaborazioni teoriche
Abstract
The rising of the Welfare Society, and the consequent emerging publishing industry during the second part of the 20th Century, have pushed the prose literature to quickly adapt to this new Era. During the process, the literature has lost, at least in part, the perception of the self inside a specific period of history. To best understand present, it is necessary to recollect this shattered past, try to figure out the line that,, despite the many possible directions, connects in between the causes of the current status quo. To achieve compiling a Canon, in Italian Literature, has always been synonymous of didactical debates opposed to the cultural militancy. As the cultural system has shaped itself in tough changes, the contemporary literary studies have the opportunity to focus on the present with a new selective stance, a canonizing one. The challenge, today, is the contemporaneity: the intricate maze of insidious perils, the press office advertising dressed up as cultural critics, the disorientation as a systemic approach to the literature. The contemporary critic has to investigate the place in which he can act, involves himself determining new methodological categories and setting a canon when a canon is still not. Is it possible to organize contemporary schedules from a so heterogeneous magma?
