Le parole della storia. Dal linguistic turn al web semantico

Abstract

Il saggio analizza il complesso rapporto che nelle discipline storiche lega la fonte al suo interprete, sia che si tratti dello storico, sia dell’archivista che la deve descrivere, analizzando alla luce del Linguistic turn l’ambiguità insita nelle parole da cui è costituita la fonte stessa. Estende poi la riflessione alle conseguenze di tale ambiguità in relazione agli strumenti informatizzati di ricerca sulle banche dati e sul Web.

The essay analyses the complex relationship that in the historical disciplines binds the source to its interpreter, be it the historian or the archivist who has to describe it, analysing in the light of the Linguistic turn the ambiguity inherent in the words from which the source itself is made up. It then extends the reflection to the consequences of this ambiguity in relation to computerised research tools on databases and the Web.
