The Ladin language and culture communities are a unique example of the interaction between tangible and intangible heritage, serving as a multicultural laboratory that
plays a vital role in preserving cultural diversity amidst globalization. This analysis acknowledges the strong connection between tangible and intangible heritage, which is continuously
renewed by local communities over time. These communities assign value and significance to
their surroundings, shaping their identity through language, customs, traditions, and various
social and educational practices. Drawing from the ideas of James Hillman and international
legislation like the Faro Convention, the activities of La Majon di Fascegn in the Val di Fassa
are highlighted as an important example, framing them in the perspective of public history.
