Abstract

La pratica della traduzione – e la riflessione teorica sull’atto del tradurre – accompagnano Salvatore Quasimodo lungo tutto l’arco della vicenda biografica: dal 1940 – anno della pubblicazione dei Lirici greci – fino alle raccolte postume (Il gioco degli astragali, di Yves Lecomte; Iliade. Episodi scelti; e Donner à voir di Eluard), Quasimodo scriverà – a corredo delle sue versioni o con saggi ‘dedicati’ all’esercizio traduttivo – insistendo soprattutto sull’autonomia del tradurre e sulla funzione – gemellare alla poesia – nel processo di «rifacimento» dell’Uomo.
