<title>Quality of Life of Infertile Couples Undergoing Medically Assisted Procreation (PMA) With Gamete Donation. A Scoping Review</title>

<description>Quality of Life of Infertile Couples Undergoing Medically Assisted Procreation (PMA) With Gamete Donation. A Scoping Review
Ilardi, Bernadette; Bonetti, Carloluigi; Cerrone, Valentina; Shariff, Mohammed N.; Prendin, Angela; Andretta, Vincenzo; Cascella, Marco
Introduction: The drop in the birth rate, especially in the Western world, has resulted in a widespread battle with&#13;
infertility. The declining fertility rates have led to an increasing dependence on assisted reproductive technologies&#13;
(ART). These methods provide hope for infertile couples but have notable emotional and psychological effects, especially when using heterologous techniques with gamete donation.&#13;
Aim: To comprehend the issues and challenges experienced by infertile couples using medical assistance for procreation with gamete donation and to outline the benefits of this treatment.&#13;
Material and methods: A scoping review was carried out following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, utilizing MedLine/&#13;
Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases. Results: The review included 9 out of the 9540 articles found.&#13;
Moderate to severe anxiety was reported in up to 86.5 % of couples, while psychological support improved emotional&#13;
states and reduced stress in 32 % of couples.&#13;
Conclusion: Thoughtful guidance of the couple receiving the donation is crucial to minimize the adverse emotional&#13;
effects and offer thorough psychological assistance, guaranteeing that healthcare facilities meet all the patient's requirements.

<title>History of Allergology: Allergen-specific Immunotherapy (AIT) the Identity Therapy of Allergology</title>
<link>http://elea.unisa.it/xmlui/handle/10556/9186</link>
<description>History of Allergology: Allergen-specific Immunotherapy (AIT) the Identity Therapy of Allergology
Di Lorenzo, Gabriele; Melluso, Marcello; Caruso, Calogero; Seidita, Aurelio
Aim: The aim of this review is to walk through the evolution of the art and science of allergic immunotherapy (AIT).&#13;
Data sources: Original reports related to the evolution of the concept of respiratory allergy and its specific treatment&#13;
were identified by following references in journal articles, review articles, and allergy textbooks from the mid-19th&#13;
century to the present.&#13;
Study selections: Studies highlighting milestones in the evolution of allergy immunotherapy practice were included.&#13;
Results: The history of AIT begins with the recognition of hay fever (hay fever) as a distinct entity and subsequent&#13;
studies that established grass pollen as one of the causes. This knowledge led Noon, an English researcher, to induce&#13;
tolerance toward pollen by administering phleum pratense pollen extract with subcutaneous injections (SCIT) to patients with hay fever.&#13;
After the publication of Noon and Freeman's work in 1911, the practice of AIT spread rapidly and was used for many&#13;
other allergens for the treatment of seasonal and perennial rhinitis, and asthma. The success of AIT was due, in large&#13;
part, to the lack of drugs. Early studies were anecdotal, but over the past 60e70 years, studies on AIT have been conducted with increasingly sophisticated scientific methods. Nowadays, AIT is based on solid immunological basis and&#13;
controlled trials (RCTs), while the clinical response of patients to AIT has not yet been established with certainty.&#13;
Conclusion: Both the art and science of AIT have been supported by clinical and immunologic studies, yet its current&#13;
role in clinical practice is debated because AIT is still a niche treatment, used only by some allergists.

<title>The Frailty of the Invincible</title>
<link>http://elea.unisa.it/xmlui/handle/10556/9183</link>
<description>The Frailty of the Invincible
Illario, Maddalena; Zavagli, Veronica; Noronha Ferreira, Lara; Sambati, M; Teixeira, Ana Maria; Lanata, F; Pais, Sandra; Farrell, John; Tramontano, Donatella
The COVID-19 pandemic has unveiled the&#13;
frailty of our societies from too many points of view to&#13;
look away. We need to understand why we were all&#13;
caught unprepared. On the one hand, we have all short&#13;
memories. As we forget too quickly, we were unable to&#13;
recognize key factors influencing response and&#13;
preparedness to public health threats. For many years,&#13;
economic evaluation pushed governments all over the&#13;
world to cut resources for public health systems, with&#13;
COVID-19 pandemic the question arises: do we spend&#13;
too much or too little on health care? What is the right&#13;
amount to spend on health? Moreover, in many countries,&#13;
the privatisation, or semi-privatisation, of healthcare may&#13;
give rise to inequitable access to health care for everyone.&#13;
Although COVID-19 is very “democratic”, its&#13;
consequences aren’t. According to OECD, income&#13;
inequality in OECD countries is at its highest level for the&#13;
past half century. Three main causes have been&#13;
recognized, technological revolution, globalization, and&#13;
“financialisation”.&#13;
In this scenario, lockdown measures adopted to save lives&#13;
are showing dramatic economic consequences. To address&#13;
post COVID-19 reconstruction we need to go beyond&#13;
GDP. As an economic measure this has many&#13;
shortcomings in describing the real well-being of a&#13;
country, and since what we measure affects what we do,&#13;
new paradigms will have to guide the post COVID-19&#13;
reconstruction strategies, as the fate of countries and their&#13;
citizens is at stake.

<title>The Many Faces of Covid-19: Organizing Pneumonia (OP) Pattern HRCT Features</title>

<description>The Many Faces of Covid-19: Organizing Pneumonia (OP) Pattern HRCT Features

Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019)&#13;
is an infectious disease caused by severe acute&#13;
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).&#13;
On 30 January 2020 the World Health Organization&#13;
(WHO) declared that the outbreak of Covid-19&#13;
realizes a public health emergency of international&#13;
concern. Because of the primary involvement of the&#13;
respiratory system, chest CT is strongly&#13;
recommended in suspected Covid-19 cases, for both&#13;
initial and follow-up. We present the case of a&#13;
Covid-19 patient, a 57-year-old man, with a typical&#13;
HRCT course of OP reaction.
