dc.description.abstract | The research was aimed at developing a technical-economic governance model for the enhancement of railway assets and in particular of unmanned or underused stations. Through the analysis of the most recent examples of sustainable urban development processes hinged on public transport, the goal set was to provide local authorities with practical and policy tools - based on an integrated approach - to manage the valorization of stations and related urban areas. The study, then, focused on the metropolitan railway network of the Campania Region, currently managed through an in-house subject - the E.A.V. srl - which has been entrusted with managerial, economic and financial coordination tasks, both for the railway transport operation and for the related investments. Therefore, the aim was to select the targets and key indicators to be used in the context of a multicriteria decision support model that, considering urban sustainability under different perspectives, was able to identify the best investment and development option within a set of alternatives.
The model, based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), was then tested on real cases, ie on four stations belonging to the same railway line, proving to be suitable for use also in different territorial contexts. [edited by Author] | it_IT |
