Creación de culturemas. El caso de gitanismos en el español de Cuba
Abstract
In the present research article we stipulate here a principle of integration, between the morphological and the notional planes of a word, which would allow to better understand the success some lexical neoformations can achieve in their diffusion and establishment, until they practically turn into culturemes, i.e., into notional domains containing semiotic traits which point to significant and specific aspects of the culture of reference. For this, we take into account terms originating in Peninsular Spanish Caló which are present in Cuban varieties of Spanish, on the base of which such lexical neo formations with high sociocultural impact are constructed. After an qualitative analysis of those elements that can be considered specifically of Romani ancestry within the Caló linguistic galaxy, we report those other terms that even belonging to Caló are not necessarily of Romani origin, also trying in this case to conduct a paradigmatic analysis of how the neologisms formed out of
them can become representative cultural objects.
