Las Academias de la lengua en las redes sociales
Abstract
This work takes into consideration the dissemination work of the Real Academia Española and the Acca demia della Crusca on the social network Twitter, in order to highlight analogies and differences between
the two institutions. The investigation was realized combining a quantitative and a qualitative approach.
From a quantitative point of view, a typological analysis of the tweets was carried out along with a study
of the use of new communicative and multimodal resources such as emoticons and hahshtags. A quanti tative approach was then used to focus on the observations about language and its use that are made by
the two Academies and to analyze what are the main linguistic doubts that users bring to their attention.
