Abstract

Il bestiario di Volponi è tra i più interessanti e complessi del Novecento. Mette insieme più cose: un autentico amore per la natura; il senso di devastazione della società industriale; la grottesca animalità degli umani e l’umanità caricaturale degli animali; la percezione sociale e politica dell’aggravamento del problema ambientale. Agli animali Volponi ha dedicato attenzione per l’intera vita, dalle poesie iniziali agli ultimi romanzi, con titoli emblematici, dal Ramarro al Pianeta irritabile alle Mosche del capitale. Questo saggio ne presenta dati ed evoluzione creativa.

Volponi’s bestiary is among the most interesting and complex of the twentieth century. It brings together several things: an authentic love for nature; the sense of devastation of industrial society; the grotesque animality of humans and the caricatured humanity of animals; the social and political perception of the worsening of the environmental problem. Volponi dedicated attention to animals throughout his life, from his initial poems to his latest novels, with emblematic titles, from Green Lizard to Irritable Planet to Flies of Capital. This essay presents data and creative evolution.
