La scienza/essenza bibliografica del cruciverbale Sanguineti

Abstract

L’autore di Stracciafoglio distingue l’uomo dagli altri animali e si pone il problema di fornire una risposta alla domanda: «che cosa è l’uomo?». O, altrimenti detto, tenendo conto che l’«‘essenza’» è «un’astrazione storicamente determinata» (lettera del 1° luglio 1978) o «un’astrazione storica determinata» (lettera del 13 luglio 1978), qual è l’«essenza» dell’uomo? La risposta è offerta allo scrittore dalle parole dell’Ideologia tedesca riportate nella succitata lettera inviata al primogenito: «gli uomini […] cominciarono a distinguersi dagli animali allorché cominciarono a produrre». Così, da un lato, muovendosi alla ricerca di una propria essenza, sul «produrre» Sanguineti epistolografo si sofferma, in chiave autobiografica, fin dalla lettera del 28 luglio 1978: «continuo a produrre (o sovraprodurre, dipende dai punti di vista) articoli»; mentre dall’altro, per quanto concerne l’essenza in chiave ontologica, nella raccolta poetica immediatamente successiva al carteggio col primogenito e a Stracciafoglio, cioè in Scartabello 34 (gennaio 1980), scrive: «tutto si trasforma e si risolve, da ultimo, nell’ultima essenza».

The author of Stracciafoglio distinguishes man from other animals and poses the problem of providing an answer to the question: ‘what is man?’. Or, to put it another way, taking into account that ‘essence’ is ‘a historically determined abstraction’ (letter of 1 July 1978) or ‘a historically determined abstraction’ (letter of 13 July 1978), what is the ‘essence’ of man? The answer is offered to the writer by the words of the German Ideology quoted in the aforementioned letter sent to the eldest son: ‘men […] began to distinguish themselves from animals when they began to produce’. Thus, on the one hand, moving in search of his own essence, on the ‘producing’ Sanguineti dwells, in an autobiographical key, since the letter of 28 July 1978 ‘I continue to produce (or overproduce, depending on one’s point of view) articles’; while on the other hand, regarding essence in an ontological key, in the poetic collection immediately following the correspondence with the first-born and Stracciafoglio, that is, in Scartabello 34 (January 1980), he writes: “everything is transformed and resolves itself, ultimately, in the last essence”.
