Abstract: Il	 contributo	 pone	 l’accento	 sulla	figura	 del	 pittore	napoletano	Giuseppe	Tomajoli,	e	sulle	particolari	vicende	che	portarono	alla	commissione	dei	dipinti	 di	 Fontanarosa.	 La	 lettura	 iconografica	della	Madonna	 con	Bambino	 della	 chiesa	 di	San	Nicola,	 affrontata	 per	 la	 prima	 volta,	 offre	 uno	spaccato	 storico,	 sociale	 e	 politico	 del	 territorio	&#xD;
periferico	irpino,	in	continuo	dialogo	con	la	capitale	del	Viceregno. Nuovi	documenti	consentono,	inoltre,	di	ampliare	sia	le	notizie	biografiche,	sia	la	produzione	dell’artista.; This	 contribution	 focuses	 on	 the	 figure	 of	 the	Neapolitan	 painter	 Giuseppe	 Tomajoli	 and	 the	specific	 events	 that	 led	 to	 the	 commissioning	 of	Fontanarosa's	 paintings.	 The	 iconographic	interpretation	of	the	Madonna	and	Child	from	the	church	of	San	Nicola,	explored	for	 the	first	 time,	offers	 an	 historical,	 social,	 and	 political	perspective	 on	 the	 peripheral	 Irpinia	 region,	 in	constant	 dialogue	 with	 the	 capital	 of	 the	&#xD;
Viceroyalty.	 New	 documents	 allow	 us	 to	 expand	the	 artist's	 biographical	 information	 and	production.</description>

Abstract: Il cardinale Alfonso Gesualdo (1540-1603), zio di Carlo, è un personaggio nodale negli equilibri politici della Curia vaticana di fine Cinquecento, da Pio IV a Clemente VIII; e un raffinato committente da quando nel 1596 diviene arcivescovo di Napoli e introduttore di un gusto fortemente toscano nelle arti figurative. Il saggio ne esamina la biografia con particolare attenzione per le strategie di alleanza e di inimicizia all’interno ed all’esterno della grande consorteria Medici-Borromeo alla quale apparteneva.; Cardinal Alfonso Gesualdo (1540-1603), Carlo's uncle, was a key figure in the political balance of power within the Vatican Curia in the late sixteenth century, from Pius IV to Clement VIII. He was a refined patron from the time he became Archbishop of Naples in 1596, introducing a strongly Tuscan taste to the figurative arts. This essay examines his biography, focusing in particular on his strategies of alliance and enmity within and outside the large Medici-Borromeo consorteria to which he belonged.</description>

Abstract: L’articolo, prendendo spunto dal recente ritrovamento di un ritratto di Emanuele Gesualdo (1588-1613), offre un contributo inedito alla ricostruzione storica e dinastica della famiglia Gesualdo. La scoperta, dovuta alle ricerche di Stefano Schivi e Andrea&#xD;
Ballardini, consente di chiarire le vicende del dipinto e i rapporti transnazionali della casata con le principali corti europee, in particolare l’ambiente imperiale di Praga. In parallelo, viene analizzato un poco noto ritratto di Luigi III Gesualdo, conservato a New&#xD;
York, rilevante per la sua iconografia complessa e per il suo valore documentario. Attraverso l’apporto di studiosi e istituzioni culturali, lo scritto sottolinea il ruolo della ricerca interdisciplinare nella valorizzazione della memoria storica gesualdiana, contribuendo ad ampliare il quadro genealogico, artistico e politico legato alla dinastia del principe madrigalista Carlo Gesualdo.; The article, taking as its point of departure the recent rediscovery of a portrait of Emanuele Gesualdo (1588–1613), offers an original contribution to the historical and dynastic reconstruction of the Gesualdo family. The discovery – stemming from research&#xD;
conducted by Stefano Schivi and Andrea Ballardini – clarifies both the provenance of the painting and the transnational connections linking the Gesualdo lineage to major European courts, particularly the imperial milieu of Prague. In parallel, the study examines a little-known portrait of Luigi III Gesualdo, preserved in New York, noteworthy for its complex iconography and documentary significance. Through the combined work of scholars and cultural institutions, the article highlights the role of interdisciplinary research in enhancing the historical memory of the Gesualdo family, thereby expanding the genealogical, artistic, and political framework surrounding the dynasty of the madrigalist prince Carlo Gesualdo.</description>

Abstract: This editorial introduces a special issue exploring the intersections between technology, identity, and social life in the digital age. Taking the prosthesis as a paradigmatic figure, it argues that technological mediation is not external to the human condition but constitutive of it: from bodily devices to algorithmic environments, artifacts co-produce subjectivities, redistribute agency, and reconfigure the norms through which bodies, capacities, and identities are recognized. Drawing on STS, sociology of the body, and the framework of algomorphic society, the editorial examines how digital platforms and AI-based systems — understood as semi-autonomous relational actors — reshape self-presentation, emotional regulation, and practices of recognition. The contributions gathered in the issue address phenomena including algorithmic legitimation, AI imaginaries among young adults, online shaming, moral panic, and the attention architectures of digital childhood. Together, they interrogate the threshold at which technology ceases to be a support and becomes a co-constitutive matrix of social experience.</description>
