Abstract: The article aims to highlight the relationship between the European Union and the Overseas Territorial Entities (Outermost Regions, Overseas Countries and Territories and sui generis territories), which is characterized by two dynamic elements: on the one hand, European Integration and, on the other hand, social and economic territorial differentiation. The incidence of European Union Citizenship and the relationship that all these territories enjoy with the Single Market point to a subtle balance which sometimes makes uncertain, otherwise unlikely, the conciliation between these two factors that to date only the Court of Justice seems able to pursue.
