Abstract:

The essay deals with Piero Chiara’s method of work, always relying upon the reality, from which the writer takes his characters’ names and the facts described in his short stories and novels. As a specimen of a similar approach to narrative fiction, an analysis of the novel Vedrò Singapore?(Will I see Singapore?) is proposed, together with an examination of the authentic sources upon which the author based himself to write that book. Il saggio tratta del metodo di lavoro di Piero Chiara, che si fonda sempre sulla realtà, da cui trae i fatti da narrare e i nomi dei personaggi, sia per i racconti che per i romanzi. Come campione di un simile approccio alla narrativa si propone soprattutto un’analisi del romanzo Vedrò Singapore?, con un vaglio delle fonti autentiche sulle quali si basò l’autore per la sua elaborazione.
