Abstract: This is Tobia Iodice’s latest work and it is about the relationship between Gabriele d’Annunzio and the Neapolitan culture of the end of XIX century. This period (1891-1893) was very important for D’Annunzio both for his biography and for his literary works. The author analyses many documents, also new ones, which he found in the Archivio Storico del Banco di Napoli. The heart of the essay is the connection between d’Annunzio’s work and the reviews published on the contemporary newspapers like «Corriere di Napoli» and «Il Mattino». Another very important result is the anticipation of the first meeting between Eleonora Duse and Gabriele d’Annunzio through a new letter.
