«Ti racconto una storia». Il teatro di narrazione tra scrittura verbale e scrittura di scena

Abstract

“Teatro di narrazione” indica una forma teatrale sviluppatasi negli anni Novanta sulla scena italiana e viva fino ad oggi, che segna una particolare evoluzione della drammaturgia letteraria. Questo genere di teatro si basa sulla presenza di un solo attore impegnato a raccontare una storia, senza scene né personaggi, solo attraverso la propria capacità affabulatoria. Il saggio tenta di dare le coordinate del fenomeno tracciando il profilo generale degli artisti narratori, l’indicazione delle tecniche di una scrittura che combina oralità e testualità, nonché i meccanismi di relazione tra palcoscenico e platea che tracciano il paradigma della nuova performance epica. A titolo esemplificativo, completa il saggio l’indicazione di alcuni casi emblematici che hanno dato il via al genere nei quali la testimonianza, la memoria e l’impegno civile sono fili che tessono un rapporto partecipato con la Storia.

“Theatre of narration” indicates a theatrical form developed in the nineties on the Italian scene and until today, which marks a particular evolution of literary dramaturgy. This kind of theatre is based on the presence of a single actor who tells a story, without scenes or characters, only thruoghhis own capacity to fascinate telling. The essay attempts to give the coordinates of the phenomenon by drawing the general profile of the artistis narrators, the indication of the techniques of a writing that combines oral and textual, as well as mechanisms of relationship between stage and audience that trace the paradigm of the new epic preformance. As an example, the essay gives some emblematic cases that open the way to a kind of theatre in which witness, memory and civic engagement are threads that weave a shared relationship with history.
