Abstract

Law and power appear to be two opposites, whose relationship, in the Roman judicial system as in modern law, seemingly affects the various organizational forms expressed by human coexistence. Every society, in the course of time, has nonetheless interpreted the relative gradation of the two concepts, thus creating a number of possibilities too ample to offer a consistent and unambiguous solution.
