De grotescos y bestiarios: La patria fría de Binetti-Saba y Chillan las bestias

Abstract

En este trabajo realizamos un acercamiento a la obra La patria fría (2012) de los argentinos Daniel Binetti y Mariano Saba, a las letras de canciones escritas por el uruguayo Pedro Dalton para la banda rioplatense Chillan las bestias y a las tapas de los álbumes del grupo, dibujadas por el mismo Dalton. A través de este análisis observamos cómo lo grotesco se materializa y adquiere sentido, por un lado, a partir de imágenes contradictorias y duales, y por otro, a partir de la presencia del cuerpo grotesco, que humaniza y animaliza al mismo tiempo. Tomamos en consideración también el concepto de bestiario, a partir de la circulación de animales en estos textos literarios y visuales. Son desde estos parámetros que nuestro trabajo se organiza y adquiere su sentido último.

In this work we approach the play La patria fría (2012) by the Argentineans Daniel Binetti and Mariano Saba, the lyrics written by the Uruguayan Pedro Dalton for the rioplatense band Chillan las bestias and the group album covers, drawn by Dalton himself. Through the analysis we observe how the grotesque materializes and acquires meaning, on the one hand from contradictory and dual images, and on the other, from the presence of the grotesque body, which humanizes and animalizes at the same time. We also take into consideration the concept of bestiary, based on the circulation of animals in these literary and visual texts. It is from these parameters that our work is organized and acquires its ultimate meaning.
