Abstract: The article explores the intersection of Heritage Education and Public History, as an approach that can foster the educational paths in the territory. Emphasizing a participatory and inclusive approach to cultural heritage, the study delves into the multifaceted role of cultural heritage as an educational tool and identity expression. Drawing on the Faro Convention and recent Italian legislation, it highlights a shift towards community-centric perspectives and lifelong learning. The paper discusses the potential of the Public History of Education perspective through the lens of Heritage Education thanks to the example of the T-PLACE (Teaching Places Building Community) project, initiated by the University of Florence. T-PLACE aims to develop a multidimensional model for territorial education and cultural heritage through cross-media and immersive approaches, involving diverse research groups. The article underscores the significance of Public History in shaping theoretical frameworks and practical strategies for promoting interdisciplinary heritage education.
