Abstract: Per molto tempo solo un punto di passaggio del Grand Tour italiano, l’Umbria vivrà una rivalutazione turistica spinta dall’estetica del sublime, concetto che si sviluppa nel Settecento e che continuerà nel primo Ottocento con il Romanticismo, portando alla riscoperta dell’arte medievale.
