Las ficciones de los impostores en la literatura sin ficción: Cercas, Luzzatto y Volpi

Abstract

En estas páginas se propone un análisis de tres obras representativas de la producción reciente de literatura no ficcional: El impostor de Javier Cercas, Max Fox de Sergio Luzzatto y Una novela criminal de Jorge Volpi. La propuesta comparativa se ve motivada por las correspondencias temáticas y los vínculos intertextuales que conectan las obras en una red de intercambios significativos también con otras escrituras paradigmáticas en el ámbito de la “historia verdadera”, centradas en la relación biográfica con sujetos “peligrosos”, criminales, asesinos, mitómanos y estafadores. Tras una breve presentación de las principales características de la nueva corriente, marcada por un importante cruce de instancias historiográficas e intereses literarios, preocupaciones estéticas y éticas, se reconstruirán las tramas de esas genealogías literarias, para luego acotar la discusión a los textos en cuestión, que se leerán a la luz de nexos temáticos y teóricos comunes: ante todo, la cuestión de la esquiva relación entre literatura, ficción y verdad en un mundo infectado por las mentiras de la posverdad.

This article offers an analysis of three representative works from recent non-fiction literature: El impostor by Javier Cercas, Max Fox by Sergio Luzzatto, and Una novela criminal by Jorge Volpi. The comparative approach is driven by thematic correspondences and intertextual links that connect these works to a network of significant exchanges, also engaging with other paradigmatic writings in the realm of “true history”, focused on biographical relationships with “dangerous” individuals such as criminals, murderers, mythomaniacs, and swindlers. Following a brief presentation of the main characteristics of the new trend, marked by a significant intersection of historiographical perspectives and literary interests, as well as aesthetic and ethical concerns, the plots of these literary genealogies will be reconstructed. The discussion will then be narrowed to the specific texts, which will be examined through the lens of shared thematic and theoretical links: particularly, the issue of the elusive relationship between literature, fiction, and truth in a world tainted by the lies of the post-truth era.
