Guerra y migración como legado familiar en mis relatos autoficcionales árbol de familia (novela), todos éramos hijos (novela) y el viaje de los locos (cuento)

Abstract

La escritora María Rosa Lojo aborda aquí tres relatos autoficcionales de su autoría. El primero es “Árbol de familia” (2010): álbum, galería de fotos que cuelgan de las ramas, espacio coral donde muchas voces se hacen oír, filtradas y transmitidas por la voz de Rosa, la descendiente nacida en América. El patchwork multicolor del cuadro de familia se expande hacia el pasado peninsular por los dos lados (el paterno, gallego; el materno, castellano y andaluz), y concluye en la Argentina, en una larga historia de migraciones, la última de ellas impulsada por el gran trauma de la Guerra Civil. En “Todos éramos hijos” (2014) la vida de Rosa salta al primer plano, pero desde una voz en tercera persona. La narración va acompañando al personaje en el tiempo, desde la escuela primaria y el bachillerato (primera y segunda parte), hasta su carrera univer sitaria, que termina en los violentos comienzos de la última dictadura argentina (tercera parte). La migración y la guerra están presentes en todo el relato. En “El viaje de los locos” (2024), el enfoque narrativo y el eje temporal de la acción se desplazan sobre la hija de Rosa, Leonor Beuter, en quien se unen los hilos de la me moria paterna (germana) y la materna (española). Ella (inmigrante en Berlín, peregrina a Santiago de Compostela) saldará la deuda contraída en 1580 por David Beuther, su antepasado alquimista suicida. Así, desde la destrucción de las guerras y las mutaciones de las diásporas, el mundo humano sigue reconstruyéndose en “El viaje de los locos”, que cambian de lugares para sobrevivir y renacer.

Writer María Rosa Lojo examines here three autofictional narratives of her own author ship. The first, Árbol de familia (Family Tree, 2010): an album, a gallery of photos han ging from the branches, a choral space in which many voices are heard, filtered, and conveyed through the voice of Rosa, the descendant born in America. The multicolored patchwork of the family portrait expands into the peninsular past on both sides—pa ternal (Galician) and maternal Castilian and Andalusian)—and concludes in Argentina, within a long history of migrations, the last driven by the great trauma of the Spanish Civil War. In Todos éramos hijos (We Were All Children, 2014), Rosa's life moves into the fore ground, but from a third-person narrative voice. The story accompanies the character through time, from primary and secondary school (parts one and two) to her university years, ending amid the violent beginnings of Argentina’s last dictatorship (part three). Migration and war are present throughout the narrative. In El viaje de los locos (The Journey of the Mad Ones, 2024), the narrative focus and temporal axis shifts to Rosa's daughter, Leonor Beuter, in whom the threads of paternal (German) and maternal (Spanish) memory converge. As an immigrant in Berlin and a pilgrim to Santiago de Compostela, she will settle the debt contracted in 1580 by David Beuther, her suicidal alchemist ancestor. Thus, out of the destruction of wars and the transformations of diasporas, the human world continues to rebuild itself in El viaje de los locos, a tale of those who change places in order to survive and be reborn.
