This article analyzes Las homicidas by Alia Trabucco Zerán through the lens of the contemporary reconfiguration of testimony, understanding the work as a device of double witnessing. On the one hand, the text reconstructs—through judicial and media archives—the narratable lives of four women who killed; on the other, it bears witness to the present scene of mediation from which those lives become—or fail to become—legible. Through the prologue, the diaries, and the epilogue, the article examines the inscription of a situated researcher-narrator whose presence displaces classical testimonial authority toward an ethics of mediation. Particular attention is paid to the Alfaro case, in which the emergence of an improper first-person voice marks the limits of archival testimony and compels us to conceive of writing as a scene of risk, delegation, and enunciative responsibility. |
