| it_IT |
| dc.description.abstract | Always linked by the homonymous title of La figlia di Iorio, Michetti’s canvas and the tragedy of D’Annunzio have had a very long gestation. Starting from 1881, the painter has drawn up, between completed sketches and paintings, a series of works that represent the first phase of a narrative cycle that was never completed. Thus, in fact, Michetti clarifies his pictorial project in an interview with Jarro in 1910. The last draft for the Venice exhibition (1895) differs from the previous versions for an approach that is no longer sociological, but mythical. D’Annunzio was directly involved in this change during his presence in Francavilla. The relations between the two works, in the final phase, are defined in the tragic function of the figure of the protagonist. | it_IT |
