L'idea del teatro en plein air nella scena dannunziana

Abstract

La rivoluzione scenica operata da d’Annunzio si basa fondamentalmente sull’idea del teatro en plein air come elemento essenziale per portare la scena fuori dal teatro, in un’atmosfera di liturgia e di festa, sì da scardinare la prassi del teatro commerciale borghese. Da qui, la costante presenza dello spazio all’aperto nelle opere dannunziane e la sua funzione attiva nell’evoluzione del dramma.

The scenic revolution operated by d’Annunzio is fundamentally based on the idea of theater en plein air as an essential element to take the scene out of the theater, in an atmosphere of liturgy and celebration, so as to undermine the practice of bourgeois commercial theater. Hence the constant presence of outdoor space in D’Annunzio’s works and its active function in the evolution of the drama.
