| dc.description.abstract | In the article in the focus of examination is one of Vyаcheslav Ivanov’s famous
poems, published in 1937 under the name “Earth”. With the help of the analysis of
the history of the creating of the text, I attempted to explain the evolution of this text
in its formal and semantic aspects from a salon piece to important ideological
message. In addition, the polemical context of Ivanov's poem “Dovecot” is revealed
as a response to criticism of the ideas of poet’s close friend philosopher Vladimir
