Abstract

This article is dedicated to Roman heritage in developing a legal concept of land property in the system of civil law. The author studies the origins of land property rights in the main sources of Roman law, especially, the Theodosian and Justinian’s Codes, the Ecloga and Farmer’s Law. Particular attention is paid to the Byzantine influence on the Old Russian law
