Per un’etica della memoria. Interferenze benjaminiane in Vincenzo Consolo
Abstract
Vincenzo Consolo’s writing is based on the idea of memory as human heritage storage and muse for the creative process. This essay aims to cross the mnestic signature of the Sicilian author with philosopher Walter Benjamin’s theories expressed in the iconic workThe storyteller: the well-known distinction between storyteller and novelist –the first one is an authentic “experience” custodian; the second is son of a degraded society and it is incapable to preserve stories –affects Consolo as a clear ideological direction. However, the Sicilian author will develop ethically this Benjaminian concept, according to artist’s social role.
