Innovación empresarial y uso de la guadua en la región del eje cafetero colombiano
Abstract
Entrepreneurship plays an important role in countries' development. In recent years, it has taken
on more strength by becoming one of the most significant growth engines in a nation. The
Colombian entrepreneurial context is characterized by having a higher percentage of MiPymes.
Regarding their survival, it is the micro-enterprises that survive less than the big ones. This
entrepreneurial context is aligned with ones of the Latin America and the Caribbean region,
evidencing a need to work on strengthening strategies for initiating and consolidating
enterprises. Our thesis aims to propose a process for the development of entrepreneurship
focused on people through the methodology of Design Thinking, applied on the use of guadua
in the Colombian Coffee Axis. In the first chapter, we developed the concept of innovation
with its different postulates and presented the methodology of Design Thinking. In the second
chapter, we described the entrepreneurial and innovative context of the Colombian Coffee Axis
with its characteristics and the institutional supports offered. In the third chapter, we considered
the uses, properties and context of bamboo and guadua in Colombia. Then, in the fourth
chapter, we established our path through an entrepreneurial project. Finally, we concluded by
considering the tools of Design Thinking that are adapted to the business context of the country,
investigating its effectiveness in the development of innovation and entrepreneurship. [edited by Author]
