Entre la realidad y la ficción la importancia de los testimonios sociales en la construcción de la narrativa comunitaria

Abstract

La narrativa contemporánea ha revitalizado la importancia de la memoria colectiva en la construcción social histórica reciente. Por supuesto, esto no significa que la memoria esté definida por los códigos estrictos de realismo, sino que en este escenario el testimonio y la ficción se contaminan. En efecto, el testimonio reproducido y transmitido por generaciones, con el tiempo a menudo va adaptándose en la (re)construcción de una realidad creída, y ello contribuye a la consolidación de presuntos conocimientos reales y que suelen ser producto de una ficción asumida y defendida por la importancia que en una comunidad pueda representar. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la interacción entre ambas y cómo la memoria puede objetivarse en una reconstrucción histórica y social con la intención de que la memoria sea una entidad menos romántica y ficcional para encontrar un punto donde memoria y realidad puedan converger y legitimar su importancia como testimonio social comunitario.

Contemporary narrative has revitalized the importance of collective memory in the construction of recent social history. This does not imply, however, that memory is defined by the strict codes of realism; rather, testimony and fiction become intertwined within this context. Indeed, testimony reproduced and transmitted across generations often becomes gradually adapted over time in the (re)construction of a perceived reality, thereby contributing to the consolidation of presumed forms of real knowledge that are frequently the product of an assumed fiction, one that is embraced and defended because of the significance it may hold for a community. This article aims to analyze the interaction between testimony and fiction, and how memory may be objectified in historical and social reconstruction, with the intention of making memory a less romanticized and fictionalized entity, in order to find a point where memory and reality may converge and legitimize their importance as a form of community-based testimony.
