Abstract: Nikon of the Black Mountain and the Slavic Tradition of his Patristic Sources The paper investigates the Slavic tradition of the works written by Nikon of the Black Mountain. It concentrates on Nikon’s last work, the Taktikon, written between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th. The Slavic translation of the entire work dates back to the end of the 14th century. The author stresses the need for a systematic investigation not only of the Taktikon as a whole, compact text, but also of the single chapters or groups of chapters circulating as fragments. He points out the role of Nikon’s Taktikon as a vehicle for the knowledge of patristic texts among the Slavs.
