Abstract: The Double/Joint Degree Agreements, growing thanks to the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research’s internationalization policy, require a more writing-oriented didactics of Italian second language (e.g. towards the academic texts). The University of Salerno and the University of Saarlandes have recently launched the Joint master’s degree program LIDIT “Linguistica e didattica dell’italiano nel contesto internazionale”, during which German students (who start from the B1-B2 level in Italian) will have to deal with written exams and the writing of papers. A corpus of texts written by students of Italian as second-language and foreign-language has been collected to create an ad hoc curriculum for them. In this paper I analyze the deficiencies, the difficulties in mother tongue and foreign-language argument writing and the most problematic crisis points (disciplinary vocabulary, textual organization etc.).
