Abstract: The purpose of this article is to examine 19th century Russian grammar books written in Italian. The article reviews the history of 19th century Russian grammars written in different foreign languages, which were used to teach Russian as a foreign language. The main purpose of this work is to place Prof. Voinovich’s Russian grammar book and its author in the history of Grammar books of Russian as a foreign language. This research is the first to be entirely dedicated to this very subject.
