Abstract:

Il contributo ripercorre le proposte critiche che, nei decenni, hanno tentato di interpretare il simbolo pascoliano della siepe, collegandolo ora a supposte ragioni ideologiche, ora a un più problematico contesto sociale. Rispetto alle due principali linee esegetiche sull’argomento – l’una di stampo marxista, l’altra più neutrale e attenta alle origini storiche di certe posizioni – il lavoro resta imparziale: l’obiettivo è quello di ordinare e ricostruire il complesso dibattito sulla questione, non già quello di fornire un’ennesima interpretazione. The essays traces the critical proposals about the symbol of the hedge in Pascoli, linked to supposed ideological reasons or to a problematic social context. There are two exegetical lines about the subject, one linked to Marxist criticism, the other more neutral and to the historical origins of Pascoli’s positions. The paper remains impartial: the objective is to order and reconstruct the different positions, not to provide another interpretation.
