Abstract: The paper returns to Gioventù cannibale 25 years after his release. After discussing about his adherence to pulp paradigms, it looks to characterizing aspects of the “cannibale” writ-ing: assimilation of media suggestions, deformation of language induced by spoken and ad-vertising, demolition of borders between high-brow and lowbrow. In the end, the article tries to reach an overall balance on the anthology, framing it in a general perspective about contemporary fiction.
