d’Antiochia a Monteforte Irpino, comparandoli
The current study conducts an iconographic and stylistic examination of the frescoes recently discovered in the crypt of the church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia in Monteforte Irpino, comparing them with those of other known Triumphs of Death widespread especially in southern Italy. Furthermore, it reconstructs the historical and cultural context to which they belong, attributing these pictorial works to the painter Belisario Corenzio (or to his school). |
