Abstract: The decision to consider the Military War Memorial of the Fallen Overseas in Bari as a place for a concrete exercise of Public History starts from the desire to support “the paradigm of participatory action research […] a research modality that for the pedagogical field has been the privileged reason of contact with the territory, of building a relationship of collaboration and training especially with schools, museums, associations and territorial bodies” (Manifesto of the Public History of Education, 2020, point 2). This includes the path that was implemented with the Licei Cartesio in Triggiano, whose final year students were invited to actively participate in and rediscover a place that was familiar to them but not really known.
