Abstract: This paper recounts the experience of the educational community of a school that became actively involved in the recovery and exhibition of its historicaleducational heritage. More specifically, this experience, inspired by Public History and Digital History, is based on the collaboration established between the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), the KU Leuven (Kortrijk, Belgium) and the Don Bosco Institute of Tournai (Tournai, Belgium). It all began with a request for collaboration that the alumni association of the institute made to various researchers with the aim of preserving and disseminating the valuable historical-educational heritage found in its archives. As a result of this collaboration, a web page was created that presents the history and historical-educational heritage of the institute in question. Based on what was experienced and observed by the researchers, in the conclusions section, the authors offer some reflections on the possible influence that this type of historiographic exercise can have on community cohesion in educational institutes, as well as on the reduction of the existing gap between academia and society.
