Abstract: | A project by the Martinitt and Stelline museum in Milan with the threeyear high school period led to a multi-year historical dissemination work, thanks to the timetable possibilities offered by school-work alternation. The project was based on the reading, analysis and restitution of the data contained in the personal dossiers of orphans, male and female, hospitalized in institutions between the 19th and 20th centuries. The method of approaching historical sources is multidisciplinary and different sources were taken into consideration, from strictly documentary ones, to iconographic ones, to oral ones. Seven years of educational workshops, implemented with 150 high school classes, have produced hundreds of files, with data collected from over 6,000 personal dossiers and processed by the students into graphs, tables and histograms, in which the salient elements are reported. The work of historical dissemination forms the basis of the site www. lamemoriadellavoro.it, which makes the materials produced available under a free license. |
