Abstract: This article examines how stakeholders in the French film industry are addressing ecological issues within public policies, organizations, and professional practices, and how the greening of the film industry is taking shape. The first part offers a study of the political and economic context in which the ecological question arises. The second part is devoted to analyzing the actions of pioneers in the greening of cinema, both in terms of production and movie theaters. The third part shows how these specific cases have served as a guide for developing a cultural policy for the ecological transition of the industry, and questions the limits and prospects posed by the actions undertaken.
