dc.description.abstract | This research article’s purpose through a quantitative methodology to examinate
Pedro Francisco Bonó´s questioning about salvific progress conception, which
characterized the sociopolitical and intellectual ambient of Dominican society on
the second half of XIX century. As a social historical referent his critical speech
about the progressive ideal, the social thinker approach the irruption of the European monopolistic capital on a country that recently emancipate itself from Spain
and insist vainly in setting institutions related to the Nation State. Among the noted obstacles are illiteracy and ignorance, colonial mentality, political corruption
and neocolonial practices. However, the intellectual critic warns that another of
the serious issues is the theory of progress, feverishly raised by liberals and positivists. The result of the present work the arguments are explained in this regard,
while analyzing the various stages of Bonó´s conceptualization. | it_IT |
