Abstract: | The present work deals with the convergence between the study of human language and the field of neurosciences. In particular, its conceptual framework is rooted in the behavior analytic approach. Its first and main aim is to try to combine the different functional uses of language with the technologies of the neurosciences, particularly neuroimaging. The basic idea is to create a discipline capable to follow Skinner’s lead in treating covert behavior just like the overt one. The continuous advancement and tools provided by neuroscience can now match Skinner’s expectations. In fact, the data presented in this thesis can open to new teaching perspectives and suggest possible strategies to both overcome language difficulties in subject with cognitive disabilities and transfer these new learning technologies to other kinds of impairments.
